Starting Tuesday January 13, we will alternate between snowshoeing and XC skiing at our Elk Ridge Wildlife Haven and Riverview locations.

What: Themed, staff led environmental education tidbits along the way: brief so we can keep moving

Where: The Elk Ridge Wildlife Haven trailhead or at our Riverview cabin location (restrooms at Riverview)

Time: 10 am - noon

  • Snowshoes provided

  • Service dogs only

  • On some outings, retired wildlife biologists Glen Matthews or Doug Reeves may join

  • Snacks, coffee, hot cocoa and water provided

    Registration is preferred, but not required. Bring a friend, make a new one!

Greenwood’s mission allows us to open our facility to select groups for education or scientific purposes. We welcome these groups to experience this beautiful property in its natural state.

There are many trails to choose from for hiking, snowshoeing or xc skiing and a variety of natural habitats to achieve your organization’s learning goals.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS: Two cabin options determined by critera below. Groups bring their own sleeping gear and food.

-WINDSWEPT CABIN: Sleeps 20 on bunk beds, 8 people per bedroom with 4 people in the chaperone’s bedroom. *Bunk House: Sleeps 16 on bunk beds.

*Bunkhouse, showerhouse, and outhouse on site for a more “rustic” experience if preferred/needed for group’s intent.

-HOLY SMOKE CABIN: Reserved for scientific learning purposes and some small groups. Contact us for more information.

- Enjoy miles of trails

- Kayaks, pedal boats and canoe available

GROUP RATES (10-32 guests): No charge if no trace: thank you for leaving it as you found it, so we do not have to charge a cleaning fee.
